Eng. Lightness Salema is Founder and CEO of DREAM DEVELOPERS LIMITED, a Tanzanian company aimed at poverty alleviation and improving the standard of living of people through job creation, increasing household incomes, and advocating healthy bee products. Having started her career at Price Waterhouse Coopers and The Central Bank of Tanzania, Lightness followed her passion to work on women and youth empowerment, becoming a professional networker and health consultant. She is the founder of several organizations, including Women In Mining Operations (WIMO), Women’s Empowerment Program (WEP), Commonwealth Business Women’s Network (CBWN Tanzania). In 2019 she won the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs Award (AWE) for Best Business Concept. Lightness has inspired and motivated thousands of women and youth, especially from Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, UK, and Zambia, to better their living through owning a business. She holds a B.Sc. (Hons) Electrical Engineering degree from University of Dar es salaam, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Facilities Management with Leeds Metropolitan University, UK.
