Nikki Ector is a Director, Information Technology Solutions, at LA Care Health Plan in Los Angeles, CA, where she manages the Health Services Domain with Analysts and Developers. Nikki has over 25 years' experience across many industries, technologies, and applications. She started her career fresh out of a Technical School when she was hired as a programmer. Her first mentorship experience was demonstrated by her manager and a senior programmer who supported her interests; she understands the power of mentorship and relationship-building firsthand. This experience was pivotal to her career because not only did she use her coding skills, but she also developed analytical skills and had exposure to every system to support a successful manufacturing company. Nikki started in IT when it was much simpler, and everyone was learning and had to be a generalist to get the job done. She has successfully led teams focused on Operations, Analytics, Development, Testing, Training, and Global Meeting Production. She also has strong Program and Project Management experience. Her background is truly diverse as she has had exposure in many industries, including Manufacturing(varied), Automotive, Health Care, Entertainment (varied), and Non-Profits. Nikki is the mother of three adult children who have benefited from her experiences as well. She enjoys volunteering and mentoring teens and young women for NFTE (Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship) and the Empowher organizations.
