The ’80s were a turbulent time for women. Gloria Steinem, Bella Abzug, and many other activists were on TV daily leading women’s marches to wake up the nation about women being left behind. Major news outlets started featuring major stories highlighting the large percentage of women being held back. Small cracks started appearing in the glass ceiling. These issues kept me awake many nights - reevaluating what this meant for my life and the lives of the amazing women in tech who were sharing their stories with me. I felt driven to find a solution.
