Briana Wade

Analyst, Cyber Threat Intelligence Team, Commonwealth Bank

Briana is an analyst in the Cyber Threat Intelligence team at Commonwealth Bank, where she helps collect, analyse, and distribute intelligence to help mitigate the risk of cyber-based attacks. She has a particular interest in researching the nexus of nation-state threat actors and the growing collaboration with cybercrime groups. Briana is also a member of Homeward Bound, a leadership program which culminates in a trip to Antarctica, that is creating a network of 1,000 female leaders from around the world and aims to support and amplify their voices and perspectives, bringing critical insights into the global-scale change required to protect our planet. Briana completed her undergraduate Engineering degree at the Australian National University where she majored in Systems Engineering, Electronics & Communications, and completed her honours project with Engineers without Borders Australia in rural Cambodia. Briana was awarded the New Colombo Scholarship, the ANU Centenary Scholarship and the CECS Female Excellence Award, and was a student ambassador to the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) throughout her degree. Alongside university, Briana has an interest in robotics, competing as part of the Australian Team at Robocup Junior in Brazil in 2014. In addition, she has been a principal in Business in a STEM educational start-up, KidTechnic, aiming to enrich technology in young people's lives through teaching robotics courses with Lego Mindstorms and Arduino.
