Liyana Sahir
Incoming Masters Student, AI at IISc
Liyana is a Computer Science & Engineering graduate who has been working towards levelling the playing field for the marginalized in tech for the past four years. During her undergrad, she championed to put together the first ever 24-hour women hackathon in the region. Liyana later went on to become the founding student coordinator of SHE, a project under the All India Council for Technical Education to take a more assertive role in imparting female engineering students at the grassroots level - the exposure needed to eventually fulfill their career demands in a globalized world. Liyana led the organization in its initial course of establishment, coordinating sessions with various industry experts and working with engineering students of all years and branches of study. As a computer science engineer, Liyana is fascinated by NLP and Ethics in AI. She is all set to start her Masters in AI at IISc Bangalore this fall.
